Delete your DPC app account
Last updated 17 October 2026
This page is for people who use the DPC app, the phone app published on Google Play and the App Store by Dubbo Presbyterian Church (DPC), the PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF AUSTRALIA IN THE STATE OF NEW SOUTH WALES PARISH OF DUBBO. It explains how to delete your account, what is removed when you do, and what the church keeps. Our privacy policy covers everything else about how we handle your information.
Request deletion of your data
Fill in this form and your request goes to the church office, whether or not you still have the app. Tell us if you want your church record deleted as well as your app account. Nothing is deleted until the office has acted on your request, and we may email you first to confirm who you are.
Delete your account from inside the app
- Open the DPC app and sign in.
- Open the Menu tab and choose My details.
- Tap Ask to delete my account.
Your request goes straight to the church office, and My details shows that it is waiting. You can keep using the app until the office has acted on it, or sign out straight away. This works even if your sign-up has not been approved yet.
Or ask us by email
If you would rather not use the form, email info@dubbo.church with the subject “Delete my DPC app account”. Please write from the email address you used to sign in, or tell us which Google or Apple account you used. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on a request. You can also speak with a staff member at church.
What happens next
The church office handles deletion requests by hand and will act on yours within 30 days, usually much sooner. Once it is done you can no longer sign in to the DPC app with that account. The app still works without signing in, for news, events and talks. If you later want an account again, you can sign up in the app afresh and the office will approve you as a new sign-up.
What is deleted
- Your app sign-in: the link between your Google or Apple account and your record in our church management system. Apple or Google keep your Apple or Google account; only our use of it to sign you in is removed.
- Any changes to your email, mobile or address you sent from the app that the office had not yet reviewed.
- Anything the app stored on your phone. The app keeps only your sign-in in your phone's secure storage; deleting the app from your phone removes it. The prayer points you ticked were never sent to us.
What we keep, and for how long
- Your church record. Deleting your app account does not by itself delete your record in our church management system, because many people use the app who are also members, volunteers or parents of children in our programmes. If you want your record deleted as well, say so in the same request. We will delete it unless we are required to keep part of it, for example safeguarding records or records the law requires us to retain. Otherwise, when someone moves on, their record is archived and is no longer used for communication.
- Group chat messages you sent in the app stay visible to the group so conversations still make sense, and a hidden copy is kept so a reported message can still be reviewed. All messages, including deleted ones, and any reports about them are permanently removed after 12 months.
- Children's check-in records (sign-in and sign-out times) are kept for child safety, as our privacy policy explains.
- Backups of our database are kept in Australia and deleted after 30 days, so a deleted account can linger in a backup for up to 30 days before it is gone everywhere.
Deleting some information without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your account to remove a particular detail. In the app, My details lets you change your email, mobile or address, and the office reviews the change. For anything else, including a message you want taken down, email info@dubbo.church and tell us what you would like removed.
